SANA DISTANCIA - Pedro Friedeberg

Pedro Friedeberg is a radial artist who throughout his career has always been at the forefront, as in the Renaissance and the Pre-Raphaelite art of the 19th century, by revisiting the anachronistic forms of artistic production in their aesthetic content and applying the latest techniques in use, manifests a unique modern and contemporary creation by syncretizing them in his characteristic and unmistakable work. He has explored a multiple diversity of supports and disciplines in tangible materials. In this exhibition at CAM Galería, the artist presents his NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). Its relevance lies in the fact that he is a renowned artist, the emeritus of Mexico in 2021, who transitions to intangibility in art in the same year that NFTs make their appearance in the art world.
An NFT is a unique digital file authenticated from a chain of blocks agreed upon in nodes of a network in cyberspace, which contains a piece of "non-fungible" cryptographic art, with a token type.
The selected NFTs come from a series of drawings made during the confinement forced by the pandemic whose name is "Sana Distancia: SD", a name alluding to the main sanitary measure to avoid contagion. The drawings were made in San Agustinillo, Oaxaca between March and July 2020. In this exhibition the viewer will be able to contemplate unique tangible works, multiple limited edition originals in serigraphy, and NFTs of different limited editions that are produced from the tangible works. immanently and whose fundamental characteristic is the moving image.
