Nicolás Guzmán shows us a selection of pieces taken from his new pictorial research, in which traditional techniques are mixed with industrial materials such as synthetic pigments and micas, making abstract, dynamic, and harmonic compositions with these.

For Nicolás, the importance of the work of art lies in taking distance from common and ordinary language. Taking poetry as a construction tool, where images and words become nothing, it is where the artist meets his inner being, without a map, and begins to have a conversation with himself, in connection with the energy of the universe.

When there are no maps, you have to follow composition diagrams, find the internal logic of the structure of the work, and let it guide you. It is in these diagrams where are the directions to follow the path of painting seen as traces of diluted minerals, light, color, and movement. Painting as the protagonist, without the need to represent or illustrate.
